The costs of being the boss

In this day and age, it seems like guys are willing to do just about anything to be “the man” or "the boss". Even above that, people spend more time worrying about what other people might think of them. They aren’t concerned so much with being the top dog, they just want others to think and know that they’re the guy in charge. Being the man isn’t cheap, though. It requires quite a monetary commitment to uphold an image of being on top of the social world. Here are some things that guys do in order to feed their persona and what these things might cost.
“I’ll buy the drinks”
Tons of money is unloaded at the bars by these self-promoting attention junkies. They will buy drinks for every woman around, make sure that their boys have a few shots, and even supply alcohol for people that they just met. They won’t be quiet about it, either. These are the guys who you might hear shouting loudly, “I’ve got this round!” It’s expensive to buy the drinks, though. These guys can spend $300 or $400 at the bar, depending upon what kind of alcohol they are buying.
Rent a car, but not a minivan
In their quest to be noticed, these guys will often spend big bucks to rent luxury cars for a day or even a week. They aren’t renting minivans, either. These guys are going out and finding Ferraris, Lamborghinis, and Aston-Martins. They won’t even let you know that they rented this vehicle, though. It’s not cheap to play this trick on the ladies at the bar. If you want to rent a luxury car in Miami, it will cost at least $2,000 per day.
The High Maintenance Woman
Guys like this will often date a high maintenance girl just because they can. They will use her like a trophy, showing off the ring that they purchased last week or the fake boobs that they outfitted her with a couple of months ago. These relationships are doomed to fail, but they do the trick for a few months of showing off. Depending on the girl and her specific needs, dating one of these high maintenance honies can cost $1,000 per week or more. It’s all about how much a guy is willing to spend in order to look like a high roller.
