The 5 things I love the most about Ibiza

There are many things I love about Ibiza. When people think of Ibiza, they think of great weather and beautiful beaches, as well as it being the party capital of the world. I’m going to tell you 5 things I love about Ibiza that make it worth going for just about anyone. Do also feel free to step by my Ibiza travel guide for even more advice.

1. The open and closed parties - Clubbing in Ibiza is definitely something to be experienced during the hot summers. There is lots of great music, cool people, and plenty of fun dancing to be had. The drinking culture is enjoyable with the wide array of beverages available, from typical beers to exotic cocktails. Ibiza is not considered the party capital of the world for no reason. It is a place a lot of people will go just for the partying alone!

2. The sunsets - Ibiza sunsets are not only beautiful, but also high celebrated. Lots of people come together to witness them, and there is something truly spiritual about the experience. it is an incredible atmosphere, like no other. It’s a perfect start to an evening, and without a doubt promotes a strong feeling of happiness. Often, the best experiences such as this don’t cost a penny. Just head down to the beach and enjoy.

3. Formentera - This island is a short ferry ride away from Ibiza. If you want to experience big, beautiful white beaches in the hot summer weather then definitely go to Formentera if you’re on holiday at Ibiza. It also has some really great place to eat – I recommend Yuan and Andre’s fish restaurant. You may like this island so much that you’ll want to be there every day of your Ibiza trip, and I certainly wouldn’t recommend against it.

4. The cuisine – Restaurants in Ibiza vary, but something most of them have in common is the great quality of the food. It’s not a real holiday without good restaurants, and I can assure you, you will not be disappointed. There are many places to choose from when it comes to eating out. A couple of favorites are L’Elephant and Alyoun, both of which can be found in San Rafael. Just about anyone can enjoy these two restaurants alone, throughout the whole trip. But be adventurous and try different places.

5. The hippy markets – Something a lot of people don’t know about is the fact that Ibiza has some fantastic hippy markets. Es Cana Hippy and Las Dalias are the two big ones, and both worth visiting on your trip. Es Cana Hippy is held on Wednesdays, while Las Dalias is held on Saturdays. This means you can attend both even in one short trip to Ibiza. The shopping experience is enjoyable, and there are some decent bargains going on.

It’s clear why Ibiza is such a common place to go on holiday to. The weather, the partying, the food, the beaches, the sunsets – they’re all wonderful experiences, especially when all packed into one single trip.

Cocktail guide to Costa Teguise

Costa Teguise is a resort on the isle of Lanzarote. The Canary Isles are a very popular destination during the European winter. And you should not feel bad for enjoying some chilled drinks in the sun.

Costa Teguise is a more relaxed resort, compared to others and can be lively, but is not a wild and rowdy resort. (Puerto del Carmen is a better option if you want to party hard in Lanzarote. )Bars in Costa Teguise tend to stay open until 2am, and there is usually live music playing.

What I like to do when visiting the Lanzarote resort is to enjoy a cocktail during the night.

Cocktails guide to Costa Teguise

If you enjoy your cocktails, then I would advise to make the most out of Happy Hours. Happy Hours also include beer, and Sangria. It tends to occur between 4pm- 6pm and some places 8pm-10pm. A good place to go for late afternoon cocktails is at Surfwings located on Playa las Cucharas, and provides beautiful sea views. It has many tables, perhaps 20, and it looks like a big beach hut, providing 360 degrees panoramic views. It is also a good sun trap, as the wind does not get in through the glass panels. There are also umbrellas here to stay out of the midday sun. The menu is huge. There are a wide range of cocktails to choose from, as well as fantastic ice creams. I would recommend the banana split which cost 5.50 euros. The cocktails are quite strong though, but are very good.

The Lighthouse Bar is an international cocktail bar within the centre of the resort, but also serves beer , spirits, wine, and liqueurs, and is open every night until 2am.

Partying in Puerto del Carmen

If you want to travel to the Canary isles to party, head for Playa del Ingles on Gran Canaria or Playa de las Americas on Tenerife. Lanzarote is a more sedate and quiet island. Lanzarote’s main party hotspot is Puerto del Carmen where you can enjoy some late night fun at clubs and discos.

Party nights starts at 10 PM

Night life is rife in Puerto del Carmen. The main strip transforms slowly from a family evening area to a disco/party area from around 10pm all along the strip. Music of all tastes is catered for, from lots of different venues hosting shows, singing, and other entertainments. English bars like Lineker’s thrive on the flow of cultures and people, mixing and enjoying each others company. Sports bars screen live football and sports from all around the world so you never miss how your team may be getting on. Over 40 Irish bars like Mulligan’s and Charlie’s stretch along this busy area mixed with Spanish bars (Cerveceria San Miquel), Celtic taverns (the Celtic Inn)and English pubs(Olde English Pub) all with there own special mark to be made within this area. While attracting a more 18-30 custom in the later evening, there really is something for all ages, abilities, styles and budgets.

With so many bars and clubs it would be impossible to stand out; or so you would think. The bar Tropical is a great place to sit around have a drink and watch Puerto del Carmen bustling and smiling as new experiences jump out around every corner to those you watch. Exotic cocktails, good music and always a buzzing atmosphere are memorable every time.
The cheapest beer in the strip was found in the north part nearer Matagorda at Playa de los Pocillos. Entertainment show bars, restaurants and amusements designed for all kinds of budgets all awaiting discovery along the strip and all very welcoming.

Night clubs

Night clubs like the Paradiss Club and the Emporium offer different style music from disco, garage, hardcore, drum and base and chart music, all hustling for you business along the long very busy new town (main strip). With so many to choose, you won’t be able to dance around them all.

Magaluf is a boozy resort on the island of Mallorca. It’s not much spanish here, the brits are dominating and the entertainment, pubs, clubs and restaurants all seem to be geared towards the British tourists.

Cheap
Yes, it’s very cheap in Magaluf. Prices are low. After looking around and having a few pints it seems that it’s hard to buy a pint of lager that’s more expensive than â‚¬2.50. The cheapest pints of beer are available for â‚¬1.50.

Are you heading for Magaluf in Mallorca this summer? Wonder how much money you should bring to party in fashionable style?

Read on my friend, I just came back from Majorca and had the pleasure of visiting the seaside bars and restaurants of Magaluf. I brought home some receipts that tell the tale of the price level in the boozy resort.

Prices in pubs and bars
The lowest priced pint of lager you will buy will cost you â‚¬1.50. That’s very reasonable. Some stylish places may charge you â‚¬2.50 or â‚¬3 for the pint of beer, but if you are looking around a bit you will find plenty of places where the beer is priced at less than â‚¬2.

There are plenty of offers around. 2 bottles of Budweiser for â‚¬4, Vodka & Red Bull for â‚¬4, cocktails â‚¬4 and so on.

Restaurants
There are plenty of fast food joints like Burger King, McDonald’s and Kentucky Fried Chicken in Magaluf. At these places you can get a set menu for â‚¬5. If you want something better you can head for a Mexican place, or a steak restaurant where main dishes are served from â‚¬7-8.

Clubbing costs
This is what will set you back. It’s expensive to get into the clubs and the prices at the bars inside are very high. Preload yourself before entering.

How much did I spend?
I spent approximately â‚¬100 each day during my holiday in Magaluf, but then I had plenty of partying and did go to the clubs for a few nights.

Formentera is a small island in the Balearics, it has no airport, but is only a 30 minute ferry trip from Ibiza. The island is very small and you’ll be able to cycle around it in one day if you’re reasonable fit, as you can also see for yourself, it’s a very pretty island and it was a joy to experience:

Ibiza is a party paradise during summer

Do not book your Ibiza holiday in the beginning or towards the end of the tourist season, you will end up very disappointed. Ibiza is best enjoyed in peak season for party travellers.

When wandering around in Ibiza during April or October you will notice a lot of bored and disappointed faces, they arrived and expected a party island, but all they got was a quiet island who is sleeping while waiting for the party people of July and August.

Only in the summer
Ibiza has a reputation for being a clubbers delight, a party paradise. But this
is restricted to the peak summer season. The clubs open in June and close in
September. Ibiza’s image as a party island is due to what happens on the island
in these months. If you visit Ibiza in mid-July you will see outragous outfits,
heavy partying and meet a lot of tanned, sexy and outgoing people. The
atmosphere in the rest of the year is very relaxed and quiet.

The island’s beaches and the sun can be enjoyed all year, but if you want to
see why Ibiza is famous you have to book at trip in the summer months, if not,
you will get disappointed.

Party hard in Ibiza in the summer of 2010

Ibiza is known as the best party island in the Mediterreanean sea. Many party tourists are selecting Ibiza as their holiday destination in 2010. So, what can you expect of Ibiza the forthcoming summer?

2010 is going to be cheap
2009 was a pretty bad year for Ibiza and visitor numbers decreased by 15-20%. There were big discounts at hotels towards the end of the summer, and you can expect these discounts to continue throughout the summer of 2010 if things do not pick themselves up. If you go to the beach you can pick up some nice serrano ham, cheese, baguettes and a few beers at one of the many supermarkets. Eat them at the beach instead of paying for lunch or dinner at fancy restaurants.

Low class alcohol-tourism
If that’s what you like, go to San Antonio – if not – stay away and head for Ibiza Town for a more upclass atmosphere.

If you head for the resort of San Antonio in 2010 and visit the resort’s “West End” district you will not feel like you are in Spain at all! There are plenty of pubs with names like “The Boozer” and you do not need to be Sherlock Holmes to understand what is on offer: Cheap lager, crisps and loud music. In addition there’s several kebab shops, Chinese restaurants and cheesy clubs who play 80s music. The clientéle in the area is mainly young British tourists.

The “West End” in San Antonio is located in Carrer de Santa Agnes and surrounding streets.

Any visit to Ibiza is not complete without enjoying the view of the sun setting over Formentera in south. The best place to watch the sunset is at the world famous Cafe del Mar in San Antonio.

When to visit?
Peak season in Ibiza is between June and September. The sun is shining and it
may become blistering hot. Days are spent at the beach where cooling sea breezes
prevents the tourists from getting overheated.

Cafe del Mar is packed during peak season.

Clubbing and nightlife is pretty slow in May, starts to kick off in June and
reaches its maximum in August. Towards the end of September things start to cool
off again.

The price of accommodation is highest in July and August. The best time to
visit with regards to value for money and great temperatures are in early June
and late September.

The 5 worst places in Gran Canaria

Gran Canaria is a popular tourist destination that offers exotic sights and scene for any holiday seeker. The unique culture of its indigenous peoples is also a tourist attraction. Though it may offer many wonders to its visitors, Gran Canaria also has its lows and some places are not even supposed to be tourist sites. This is because they either have nothing unique to show or they are an irritant to the tourists and defeat the purpose of holiday making which is actually to relax. So here are examples of such places in the Gran Canaria according to individual opinions since some people may actually find them fascinating.

The first of these places is Barakos Dos in Puerto Escala. This place is full of business touts who are actually very annoying. They offer to sell tourists such things as electronics at highly inflated prices while actually they are not original. On top of that, they insist on stopping you to persuade you to see their wares even though you may be on your way to do other important things. They are a real bother!

Another place is Morgan market. A tourist cannot peaceful browse their stalls without having your wrist grabbed or eat at their restaurants without someone flashing something at your face for you to buy. Another annoying thing is that everything is manana. You have to wait to be get any kind of service. Do not except to be served fresh foods when in most of the restaurants. Almost all serve defrosted vegetables and fish so don’t be fooled about Canarian cooking.

Most of these restaurants offer very poor customer service especially in Arguineguín and Mogán. Some will not offer you fresh towels or perform a daily routine clean of your room yet they charge exorbitant prices. You really have to ensure you see the rooms before you pay. Remember to avoid the electronic shops that have prices too good to be true because you may end up regretting what you buy!
